Five Finger Prayer

This is so neat and beautiful - and it is surely worth making the 5 finger prayer a part of our lives.  I received this  from my friend via email, thanks haidz!

1. Your thumb is nearest you.  So begin your prayers by praying for those closest to you.  They are the easiest to remember.  To pray for our loved ones is, as C. S. Lewis once said, a 'sweet duty.'

2. The
next finger is the pointing finger.  Pray for those who teach, instruct and heal.  This includes teachers, doctors, and ministers.  They need support and wisdom in pointing others in the right direction.  Keep them in your prayers.

3. The next finger is the tallest finger.  It reminds us of our leaders.  Pray for the president, leaders in business and industry, and administrators.  These people shape our nation and guide public opinion.  They need God's guidance.

4. The fourth finger is our ring finger.  Surprising to many is the fact that this is our weakest finger, as any piano teacher will testify.  It should remind us to pray for those who are weak, in trouble or in pain..  They need your prayers day and night.  You cannot pray too much for them.

5. And lastly comes our little finger - the smallest finger of all which is where we should place ourselves in relation to God and others.  As the Bible says, 'The least shall be the greatest among you.'  Your pinkie should remind you to pray for yourself.  By the time you have prayed for the other four groups, your own needs will be put into proper perspective and you will be able to pray for yourself more effectively.

Feel Free to grab this if you want to share this to your readers guys!  We can make this as a tag, please keep it spreading in the blogland..

How I wish!

Hi Papa, I know that you are happy wherever you are now, I just wish that you are still here with us. Sayang di mo man lang nakita ang mga  apo mo.  You could have enjoyed playing with them because you love children so much!  I am so thankful that you raised me the way you did, I wouldn't have got here because of you and Mama.

I want you to know that I love you very much and I'm sorry that I seldom told you that when you were still here.   Just looking at your  picture makes me cry all the time because I miss you very much PA!.
  to all the Dads!

ENLIGHTENED PERSPECTIVE

I received this from a friend on email.  I promise you'll come away with an enlightened perspective.. The subjects covered affect us all on a daily basis:

They're written by Andy Rooney , a man who has the gift of saying so much with so few words.Enjoy........

I've learned..... That the best classroom in the world is at the feet of an elderly person.

I've learned.... That when you're in love, it shows.

I've learned..... That just one person saying to me, 'You've made my day!' makes my day.

I've learned.... That having a child fall asleep in your arms is one of the most peaceful feelings in the world.

I've learned.... That being kind is more important than being right.

I've learned...... That you should never say no to a gift from a child.

I've learned.... That I can always pray for someone when I don't have the strength to help him in some other way..

I've learned....... That no matter how serious your life requires you to be, everyone needs a friend to act goofy with.

I've learned..... That sometimes all a person needs is a hand to hold and a heart to understand.

I've learned.... That simple walks with my father around the block on summer nights when I was a child did wonders for me as an adult.

I've learned.... That life is like a roll of toilet paper. The closer it gets to the end, the faster it goes.

I've learned.... That we should be glad God doesn't give us everything we ask for.

I've learned...... That money doesn't buy class..

I've learned.... That it's those small daily happenings that make life so spectacular .

I've learned... That under everyone's hard shell is someone who wants to be appreciated and loved.

I've learned..... That to ignore the facts does not change the facts.

I 've learned...... That when you plan to get even with someone, you are only letting that person continue to hurt you.

I've learned..... That love, not time, heals all wounds..

I've learned.... That the easiest way for me to grow as a person is to surround myself with people smarter than I am.

I've learned.... That everyone you meet deserves to be greeted with a smile.

I've learned.... That no one is perfect until you fall in love with them.

I've learned.... That life is tough, but I'm tougher.

I've learned.... That opportunities are never lost, someone will take the ones you miss.

I've learned ...... That when you harbor bitterness, happiness will dock elsewhere.

I've learned.... That I wish I could have told my Mom and Dad that I loved them one more time before they passed away.

I've learned.... That one should keep his words both soft and tender, because tomorrow he may have to eat them.

I've learned.... That a smile is an inexpensive way to improve your looks.

I've learned.... That when your newly born grandchild holds your little finger in his little fist, that you're hooked for life.

I've learned..... That everyone wants to live on top of the mountain, but all the happiness and growth occurs while you're climbing it.

I've learned...... That the less time I have to work with, the more things I get done.

To all of you.... Make sure you read all the way down to the last sentence.

It's National Friendship Week. Show your friends how much you care.  HAPPY FRIENDSHIP WEEK TO YOU!!!!!! YOU ARE MY FRIEND AND I AM HONOURED!

Happy birthday Chris, thank you for always staying beside us, for being so caring and loving, and most especially for accepting me like your own sister. We love and miss you. We wish you all the best!

I am a year older....

It's funny to think that as we get older, we really don't care to have a bash celebration for our birthdays. Just to spend time with our family is better than having a big party. I celebrated my  ????? birthday at home with my husband and kids and we had fun.  Hubby bought a cake and Rylie and I made a wish and blew the candles hehehe..
How about you guys, do you host a party on your birthdays?

Fresh Salad

Hey guys, do you serve salad in your dining table?  I was nnot a salad eater till I came to the States.  MY in-laws love salad, so for every occasion there is salad.  That is why I get use to eating it now hehehe.  Here are some freshly picked recipes from nubella.co that you might want to try.

Whether you grow your own tomatoes in a backyard garden or select the perfect ones from a supermarket or roadside stand, enjoy experimenting with this vitamin-rich fruit (yes, fruit!) Try Baked Red Snapper with Tomatoes, Minted Tomato Salad, or Couscous with Tomato.

Our daughter Rylie love just any kind of salad.  I am glad because she's a good example to our son who is very picky when it comes to food.

A Walk to Remember

We went for a walk around the base yesterday. My husband was telling me that I need to go out sometimes, I just find it comfortable sitting in front of the PC typing lol. But anyhow, here is a snapshot  from yesterday .The photo below was taken today when we went for a walk again .  We  dropped by at the commissary to buy some things and  I bumped into a friend who I worked with then.  She told me that she is pregnant, congratulations Kathy!  She is so lucky and blessed to be preggy once again considering that her youngest daughter is already a teen.  Wow, God is so good.  Hubby said that when we first arrived here, the guys from his department warned him that there is something influential factor in this place which makes the navy wives get preggy so easy heehehe.  Hmmmmnnn, good thing hubby had undergo vasectomy already before we came here.. or else ... hahahaha..  It's not that I don't want to get pregnant anymore, I'm just thinking of the future of our kids you so two is enough for us...

Weekend Recipes

Hey guys, here are some recipes from cookingclub.com that you might want to try this weekend.  My sister in law introduced me to rhubarbs few months after i arrived in the States and it taste pretty good.  Hubby is not very fond of it but i like it!

How do we know spring is here? We're seeing red—piles and piles of rhubarb in farmers markets, grocery stores and our backyard. Take advantage of the bounty during its short season with these five recipe finds.
INDIVIDUAL TARTS
The biggest draw of rhubarb season? Being able to bake a batch of Fluted Strawberry-Rhubarb Tarts, one of our favorites. Cream cheese pastry crust, strawberry and rhubarb filling. 'Nuff said.

EASY JELLY
This simple recipe for Rhubarb Jelly proves that making preserves doesn't have to entail spending your day sweating over a hot stove. You'll love it in PB&J sandwiches.

HOMEY BREAD PUDDING
Make a dent in your stash with this Rhubarb Bread Pudding. Using 4 cups of chopped fruit, it's a powerhouse recipe—and reviewers gave it five stars.

BIG-CRUMB COFFEE CAKE
This recipe for Big Crumb Coffee Cake looked too irresistible to pass up. We'll be heading into the kitchen the next time we harvest our rhubarb.
